What is the purpose of your website?

We'll explore your unique web site needs with you and make experienced, knowledgeable recommendations to help determine the best function, form, navigation, visuals, promotion, and other aspects of designing, building, and publishing your website, to give you the best possible presence for your needs on today's World Wide Web.
Some things we'll need to know
- Do you have a website name (domain name)? If not, we can research, reserve, and register your preferred, unique website name.
- Do you have website host? If not, we'll ask if your website will have special server needs, such as ASP, PHP, MySQL, SQL server, and research web hosting companies and packages to determine which one will best meet those needs.
- Budgeting? We're motivated to have you become a new and returning client and will work with you where possible if you're on a tight budget.
- What size will your site be; i.e., how many web pages your website will have, including any popup pages.
- Do you need a custom logo, graphics, or animation? We can design these for you (see our Logos section) or make arrangements for other options. You can supply your own pre-made graphics, too.
- If you want to enhance your website with photos, we can provide high-quality, royalty-free or rights-managed photographs perfect for your needs from leading providers of image-licensing solutions and services in the industry. Of course, you can supply your own photos.
- When published, you'll likely want your website to be easily found on major search engines, such as Google™ and Yahoo®, and widely promoted for increased page ranking. We provide turnkey solutions for reputable website promotion and search engine database submission.
Website Payment
One-half (1/2) of the total initial invoiced amount is required before we commence work. Up to 3 design samples will be presented from which you can choose. At any time during the design process changes can be requested, such as additional graphics, photos, text content, navigational items, animated or interactive elements, design modification, or adding webpages, for example - we'll be happy to accommodate most any request. If during the course of the web design process price adjustments are needed, we will always discuss same with you beforehand for your approval.
When does my website get published on the Internet?
When your final approval of the completed website work project is given, payment in full of any remaining balance is due. Upon receipt of funds, we will (your choice) upload the website files to your server (login credentials needed if not known) or burn you a CD with the structured website files. CD media and shipping/handling will be provided at no cost for our website design clients under most conditions.
Do I own the website and its contents?
Upon our acknowledged receipt of payment in full, the files are yours (except for any licensing or copyright restrictions that may apply to third parties). You will own the website and all files created by The Designs Work for you and are free to make modifications, update, redesign, etc. Let us know if your site will need a copyright branding and we will add that sign for you.
Website Maintenance, Modification, and Updating
Once your website is online and operational, you may find you need to add to, modify, update, maintain, or move your web site. Contact us for one-time/anytime website help and services, or we can contract for a regular maintenance schedule. We can help even if your website was built by someone else.
